Leather Care
At Huppé we only use full-grain genuine leathers dyed through with a semi-aniline finish, which shows less of the hide’s natural marks and provides a more uniform color. Full-grain semi-aniline leather is durable and shows character as it ages. To maintain its appearance and increase its resistance to fading, this type of leather must be hydrated periodically with a proper conditioner.
Upholstery fabric & faux leather care
Huppé offers a wide variety of fabrics and a collection of faux leather as an excellent alternative to real leather. To extend the longevity, preserve the color and maximize the cleanliness of your upholstery fabric:
Vacuum your upholstered furniture regularly, including the deck under the cushions, using your vacuum cleaner’s upholstery attachment.
Avoid exposing your furniture to direct sunlight.
Flip and rotate back and seat cushions frequently.
Clean all liquid spills immediately by blotting with a clean, absorbent cloth.
SPOT CLEAN ONLY
by following the cleaning instructions for your upholstery fabric’s cleaning code.
NOTE
If stain protection was applied after purchasing the furniture, obtain the cleaning instructions from the product supplier or retailer.
Use a professional furniture cleaning service for overall cleaning.
Always perform a cleaning test on a hidden piece of upholstery fabric before attempting to remove any visible dirt or stains.
Wood Finishes
Among our many available custom furniture finishes, we offer several “wiped” options. Their beauty lies in the fact that they let the many variations of the wood pieces used in the manufacturing of our furniture show through. It is all of these variations that create the uniqueness of your furniture. Our finishes enhance the natural beauty of wood. The color of the wood grain can vary from pale to dark and its random patterns are solely natural. They provide depth and elegance to your furniture while showcasing the exceptional natural characteristics of the wood color.
Note that the color of certain wood species, such as American black walnut, white oak and birch, changes with age. Although Huppé uses specialized varnishes to delay this natural process, it is perfectly normal for your furniture to slowly change from a grayish to a yellowish color. This lovely honey hue will enhance the natural beauty of your furniture. Note that the finish on your furniture will be fully cured 21 days after the date of manufacture. Within this time-frame, you must use your furniture with care to avoid damaging the finish.
Wood care
To maintain its appearance, depth and elegance, your wood furniture requires minimum care.
